Science Teacher (Residential)

Role Overview

The Science Teacher is responsible for fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning through rigorous classroom and laboratory instruction. As a full-time residential faculty member, this role extends past the academic day. The candidate will play an active part in the pastoral care of boarders, supervise evening study hours, and enrich campus life through co-curricular leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons in General Science (middle school) or specialized tracks (Physics, Chemistry, Biology for senior school) aligned with the curriculum framework.
  • Lab Safety & Practical Application: Design, set up, and oversee regular laboratory experiments, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and hazardous material disposal.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Design formative and summative assessments, provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, and maintain accurate performance records.
  • Academic Support: Provide dedicated remedial support or extension sessions for students during scheduled prep hours (evening study halls).
  • Student Mentorship: Monitor the emotional, physical, and social well-being of an assigned cohort of boarders, helping them navigate homesickness and peer relationships.
  • Campus Duty Rotation: Participate in essential campus routines, including morning roll calls, dining hall supervision, weekend activity monitoring, and lights-out checks.
  • Event Coordination: Actively participate in organizing institutional milestones, including the Annual Science Exhibition, inter-house competitions, sports meets, and campus walkathons.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Biology) from a recognized institution.
  • Teaching Credential: A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent professional teaching certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching science in a reputed school.
  • Working Conditions & Benefits: This is a full-time residential position. Standard compensation includes semi-furnished on-campus accommodation, dining hall meals, and utilities allowances alongside a competitive base salary.
